In the real world things like education and other positive traits matter. Here, it seemed you can have no good traits and land a guy. Online, anyone can lie about anything they want to make themselves sound better, that does not build good components for a relationship. This reminded me of the show catfish where it seemed that more than nine times out of ten people were not who they said they were.
This makes me feel bad for people that are actually trying to find someone because there are other people out there making fun of them. Talking about building the best online profile possible is not possible. Here, people that maybe are actually trying to find someone will over glamorize themselves, which when they meet might ruin the other persons expectations of them. Though is this too much? Should people really trust the internet to find their match? I also find it weird that there is an economist evaluating it. This makes me think that there are people just making fake profiles out there just to trick people for a study.
